Selina jammin' some cumbia beats

We've been practicing for our upcoming Bob Marley tribute show April 20th at House of Rock you can check it out at the link :) Hoping to take more footage of rehearsals cause they're super fun and we've got great musicians coming in and contributing their talents and it's great to collaborate.. So here's a snippet of Selina practicing her cumbia beats in between rehearsal breaks!

Shaka Toki footage from House of Rock

So had a fun night at House of Rock playing with Radio la Chusma, brought my video camera along and took some footage of Angelica Tinajero's band Shaka Toki, Geli is one of Ernie's little sisters and she was also our merch girl/jeweler when I was playing with Liquid Cheese, oh the times we had on tour haha! Anyways I also had some footage of Chusma but due to the fact I placed it in a shitty spot where there was constant lighting glares into the lens making it auto focus - out of focus the majority of the video was crap... Oh well enjoy Shaka Toki in the meantime :)

Nov 16th at The Sail Inn

3 great ska bands from Arizona playing at The Sail Inn, Wednesday Nov 16th!

Kicking off the night is Eye of Fire -  Mixing the best aspects of Rock and Reggae music, Eye of Fire is a Tempe, AZ based three-piece that can throw it down at any venue. Consisting of members Manny Anaya, Andrew Phibbs, and Brent Hunt a.k.a Rusty; the three of them all used to be in Rock-Hop and Reggae group Soulafide. When Soulafide disbanded, they decided to keep on pushing, and started Eye of Fire. Manny Anaya is an Arizona man growing up in Wickenburg. He grew up playing Metallica on his guitar but then started appreciating Reggae. Both the drummer Rusty and the bassist Andrew Phibbs are from San Diego, CA and knew each other prior to ever coming out to AZ. Neither of them were in a reggae band before either, but both fell head first into it loving the reggae sound. Whether it’s at a club or at a house party, Eye of Fire will be sure to entertain. Sara McAllister will be picking up the second spot - Vintage-style ska songstress Sara McAllister currently showcases her all-original acoustic set for audiences across the Southwest. Touring regularly with her classical guitar as a solo artist, with an upright bassist or a full band (as featured on her debut album Pheetown Girl, available on iTunes), Sara McAllister's jazzy vocals, rocksteady rhythm and infectious ska choruses have carved a space in the underground music scene that unifies audiences of all preferences. Having supported artists like Warsaw Poland Bros., Monkey, The Aggrolites and The Toasters, Sara McAllister has honed her skills with some of the genre's finest musicians.

Headlining the night is 2 Tone Lizard Kings - Well since I can't copy n paste a bio from their reverbnation profile I'll riff it :-) These guys fucking rock they do it all, traditional ska, 3rd wave, rocksteady & reggae amazing horn section tight vocals and well they've been in the AZ Ska scene for awhile and I wish I could see this show myself but alas I'm stuck in the land of entrapment so I'll miss this one but hope to catch them live soon! Check out a song below ;)
